Did you know that during the Nazi occupation of Norway in WWII Norwegians used paperclips as a symbol of resistance, wearing them as a sign of solidarity and unity. It was a subtle yet defiant act of resistance against occupiers and local Nazi authorities. The paperclip, representing the concept of βwe are bound together,β became a visual symbol of unity and resistance. This idea started with students and teachers as a spontaneous grassroots movement.
This movement is coming back and with my Norwegian descent, I have decided I would like to contribute to this movement! I have created these beautiful paperclip earrings that can be worn at any time to show your stance.
The paperclips are about the size of a quarter (see picture in comment below), the hooks are sterling silver plated, hypoallergenic and include a clear silicone stopper. Additionally, I chose to use paperclips with hearts to show a little extra love β₯
Please note: if you purchase βpaperclip onlyβ, you will not get the earring hook.Β You will only receive a paperclip with a jumpring on it. This is perfect if youβd like to put it on a chain for a necklace or add it to a pin.
