Plum Handloom Shirt

Who we source from

The Fair Shirt Project is all about empowerment. With a focus on fair labor practices, the brand partners with eco-conscious production centers like Work+Shelter and Creative Handicrafts, ensuring equitable wages, safe working conditions, and opportunities for advancement. Textile production follows suit, with collaborations with organizations like Eco Tasar and Khamir Kala Cotton initiative for handloomed fabrics, minimizing electricity usage and supporting traditional weaving techniques. Additionally, denim and twill are sourced from OEKOTEX-certified suppliers, tracking environmental impact. While some products still use conventional fabrics, the brand remains committed to improving sustainability efforts.

About this Product

Made from a lightweight artisanal handloomed cotton from Eco Tasar, an organization in Delhi that creates large-scale wage opportunities for tribal producers. This weave has different colors in the warp and the weft, which gives it a richer color.  Natural variations in the weave and color are normal.

One left-front chest pocket. Sustainable coconut buttons. Available in Slightly Slimmer fit only.

For longest garment life, wash and dry gently.

Cutting and sewing was done at Work+Shelter, a social enterprise group in New Delhi, India, that employs women in need, pays via salary rather than piecework, and offers benefits and advancement opportunities to all workers.
